Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Brampton invites a Strategic Insights Analyst Intern for a 4-month winter term starting January 6, 2027. You will join the Strategic Insights team to identify unarticulated human needs, guide business strategies, and ensure brands remain future-focused.

Under guidance, you will support multi-method research projects, assist with day-to-day tasks, and help deliver final assets. This co-op offers hybrid work with up to 1 day remote weekly and exposure to consumer

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a relevant program (co-op) with ability to commit to 4 months.
  • Interest in consumer shopping trends and data-driven insights.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a broad range of research activities, develop timelines, and support project flow from scoping to delivery of final assets.
  • Support the Manager, Strategic Insights and internal stakeholders with executing best-in-class consumer research.
  • Analyze insights from data tables, transcripts, and reports to identify novel insights and implications.
  • Assist in crafting compelling PowerPoint reports to communicate findings to internal stakeholders.

Winter 2027 Work Term

Term Length: 4 months

Term Start: January 6, 2027

Term End: April 16, 2027

The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

The Strategic Insights Analyst would be part of Strategic Insights team that has a mandate to identify unarticulated human needs, guide business strategies, and ensure our brands are future-focused.

The Analyst would support the team through strategic insight projects and initiatives. With guidance, the Analyst will support the Strategic Insights team through all aspects of project development and execution, assisting with the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities included in multi-methods research projects. The winning candidate will work on a diverse range of projects that are reflective of the products and services that Loblaw offers its customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate a broad range of research activities, develop timelines, and support organizing the orderly flow of research projects from initial scoping and development to delivery and production of final assets.

  • Support the Manager, Strategic Insights and internal stakeholders with executing best in class consumer research

  • Analyze insights within data tables, transcripts, syndicated reports, and secondary sources to identify novel insights

  • Support crafting compelling PowerPoint reports that bring the insights to life for internal stakeholders

Requirements/Skills:
  • Strategic thinker with keen interest in consumer shopping behaviours and trends

  • Strong research skills, with passion for finding the trends in data, identifying key nuggets of insights, and translating them to implications and recommendations for action

  • Excellent project management, organization, and analytical skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong communicator and presenter

  • Has a passion for action and impact through data

  • Business, Market research, Psychology, Sociology, or Anthropology (or related discipline) program
