Job summary

CT REIT is seeking a student intern to support its ESG team and energy reporting initiatives, leveraging a post-secondary program focus to contribute to building performance projects. You will collect and process energy and water data from tenants and utilities, review invoices for anomalies, and upload information to CT REIT’s data management software.

This role offers exposure to regulatory reporting, cross‑functional collaboration and opportunities for growth within a national real estate

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support annual building performance reporting to municipal and provincial regulators.
• Collaborate with tenants, utilities and regulators to collect energy and water data, including cost data.
• Review utility invoices for anomalies and variances and follow up as needed.
• Upload consumption data to CT REIT’s data management software and maintain data spreadsheets.

What You'll Do:

CT Real Estate Investment Trust (CT REIT) owns, manages, and develops income producing commercial properties across Canada. CT REIT’s ESG team drives CT REIT’s developing ESG strategy and is responsible for CT REIT’s public ESG reporting and mandatory disclosures (Building Energy Benchmarking). Reporting into CT REIT’s Manager, ESG, the primary accountabilities within this role will include:

• Supporting CT REIT with annual building performance reporting to municipal and provincial regulators.
• Working with CT REIT’s tenants, utilities, and regulators to obtain and process energy and water consumption data, including cost data for CT REIT’s buildings.
• Reviewing utility invoices for anomalies, year-over-year variances, missing data and following up with utilities as for clarification as necessary.
• Uploading consumption data to CT REIT’s data management software and updating CT REIT’s data tracking spreadsheet.

What You Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a focus within engineering, environmental sciences, data science, architecture, environmental sustainability, or related discipline
• Knowledge of sustainable building and building decarbonization strategies an asset
• Data management and analysis skills (i.e. MS Excel)
• Self‑motivated with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, supporting exchanges with multiple stakeholders

Salary Range: $23.00 - $37.00 CAD hourly Our typical hiring range is between $23.00 and $30.00 hourly. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. We’re committed to attracting top talent.
