Job summary

Canadian Tire Real Estate Limited is seeking a Project Administrator to support the Director of Construction across multiple retail projects, including Mark’s and SportChek. You will coordinate with national vendors, lead project processes, and assist with layouts, permits, testing, and tendering.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. You will generate contracts, POs and change orders, support defect tracking, and ensure meticulous

  • Collaborate with Real Estate Development to optimize layouts.
  • Support the Project Manager with defects tracking and closures.
  • Maintain meticulous project documentation records.
  • Foster internal and external relationships to ensure project success.

Job description

What you will do:
  • Prioritize customer service and champion innovation.
  • Provide crucial project administration support to the Director of Construction for Mark’s and SportChek
  • Take the lead in managing project processes and collaborating with national equipment vendors.
  • Spearhead the pre-ordering of long lead time equipment in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Assist in site and building layout design, permit acquisition, testing, consultant retention, tendering, contract awards, project scheduling, and construction administration using industry standard business software.
  • Generating and issuing contracts, purchase orders and change orders.
  • Collaborate closely with our Real Estate Development team to facilitate the optimization of site and building layouts based on constraints and site servicing considerations.
  • Back the Project Manager in handling construction-related matters, including material testing, change notices, pricing adjustments, and more.
  • Ensure meticulous record-keeping and filing of project documents.
  • Foster effective relationships both internally and externally to successfully execute projects and maintain client satisfaction.
  • Assist Project Manager with tracking deficiencies and ensuring completion of deficient work.
What you bring:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction management, design, engineering, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or Diploma in a related field).
  • Previous experience in commercial real estate, such as large retailers, developers, architectural or engineering firms, or construction companies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling collaboration with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT, Teams, etc.), with experience in project management tools preferred.
  • Proven expertise in tracking, closing, and reporting on risk and control issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated adaptability in complex organizational environments.

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000.00 - $88,000.00 CAD Annual

Our typical hiring range is between $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 CAD per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role‑specific requirements
