Job summary

Canadian Tire is offering a student internship to gain hands-on experience in energy and data management within CT REIT. You will help process consumption data, review invoices, and support regulatory reporting for building performance.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a related post-secondary program with strong MS Excel skills, a focus on sustainability, and the ability to work independently and with teams across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a focus within engineering, environmental sciences, data science, architecture, environmental sustainability, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of sustainable building and building decarbonization strategies an asset.
• Data management and analysis skills (i.e. MS Excel).
• Self-motivated with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, supporting exchanges with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supporting CT REIT with annual building performance reporting to municipal and provincial regulators.
• Working with CT REIT's tenants, utilities, and regulators to obtain and process energy and water consumption data, including cost data for CT REIT's buildings.
• Reviewing utility invoices for anomalies, year-over-year variances, missing data and following up with utilities as for clarification as necessary.
• Uploading consumption data to CT REIT's data management software and updating CT REIT's data tracking spreadsheet.
