Job summary

Manulife is seeking a student-focused analyst to support the General Account ESG team. You will help integrate ESG and climate considerations into investment decisions, perform climate risk analyses, and assist with data-driven reporting and research.

You will collaborate with Investments, Risk, Finance, Data and Sustainability colleagues, translating insights into practical recommendations and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in finance, economics, business, sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research, analyze information, and synthesize findings into clear insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on ESG, climate and sustainable finance trends, regulations and market practices relevant to the General Account.
• Support climate risk analysis and the assessment of material ESG risks and opportunities across public and private investments.
• Support with analyzing portfolio data, including emissions and other climate and ESG metrics.
• Contribute to regulatory requirements and reporting, internal reporting and related process improvements.
• Support ESG integration, sustainable finance assessments, peer benchmarking and thematic research.
• Translate research and data into clear presentations, briefings and practical insights.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Investments, Risk, Finance, Data and Sustainability on priority initiatives.
