Job summary

Fitch Group is seeking a Sustainability Analyst in Toronto to contribute to ESG ratings and research. You’ll analyze sustainability data, develop concise write-ups, and support debt instrument assessments within a globally recognized ratings firm.

The role emphasizes collaboration, continual learning, and a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office. A relevant degree and 1–3 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a discipline with a technical background related to environment, risk, governance, or finance.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sustainability and knowledge of market themes/regulations.
  • Basic financial literacy and data handling skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-starter with initiative and time-prioritization.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and apply Sustainable Fitch’s analytical methodologies for ESG impact assessments.
  • Deliver high-quality, timely written analysis on sustainability products and debt instruments.
  • Monitor a portfolio of companies daily and synthesize information from sources.
  • Keep up to date with global sustainability trends and regulatory context.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across regions to share knowledge.
