We are seeking equipment mechanics to join our team in Brockville. This is a permanent position, and we are open to individuals looking to relocate.
Description
- Change over equipment in accordance with product changes.
- Disassemble machines as required to remove parts; replace with correct machine parts and reassemble.
- Set up machines by making necessary adjustments with a variety of tools.
- Check setup or changeover by test operation.
- Report maintenance required to Reliability Leader.
- Maintain machines during operation by correcting mechanical failures, including preventing or clearing jams, making tuning adjustments, checking materials, troubleshooting, and installing or repairing parts as needed.
- Improvise temporary repairs to enable equipment to continue operation until proper maintenance can be performed.
- Use measuring instruments such as micrometers, pyrometers, and verniers. Test operation after corrections. Prepare machines for operation before starting up and after shutdowns as required.
- Fill glue reservoirs, check adjustments, and make other necessary preparations.
- Return all changeover parts to their proper storage locations.
- Inspect all parts before storage for defects and cleanliness; report maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Enter maintenance work orders into Edwards system as required.
- Maintain mechanical logs as per departmental SOPs and assist in developing new SOPs.

Qualifications
- Diploma in mechanical or electrical field; high school diploma with 7 years of relevant experience if no diploma.
- 5+ years of experience as a technician, set-up operator, mechanic, or in a production line (packaging equipment experience is a plus).
- Ability to communicate effectively with different departments and management levels.
- Availability for rotational shifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.
- Working knowledge of PLC and electrical controls, including software such as RSLogix, RSLinx, TI Software, Omron Software, DirectSoft 32 (asset).
- Working knowledge of PC and CAD software, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Inventor (asset).
Other Details
Pay Range: $28.85/hr
Workplace: Fully onsite in Brockville, ON
