Job summary

Westhills EVS is seeking an Equine Hospital Veterinarian in Parkland County, Alberta, to provide primary medical oversight for hospitalized patients, urgent-care cases, foaling mares, and neonatal foals within a paired Hospital DVM model.

You'll work alongside an experienced Hospital RVT, participate in protocol development, and help shape hospital systems while maintaining a thoughtful work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) required and eligible for Alberta licensure.
• Strong equine hospital medicine skills and clinical judgment.
• Ability to lead care decisions and communicate with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hospital admissions and inpatient case management.
• Assess and treat urgent and emergency cases.
• Manage foaling and neonatal medicine.
• Develop diagnostic plans and discharge decisions.
• Provide medical oversight to RVT and technical team.
• Communicate with clients and present treatment estimates.
• Maintain accurate medical records and handoffs.
• Contribute to hospital protocols and patient safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with reproduction and ambulatory veterinarians.
