Job summary

Delaney Veterinary Services in Sherwood Park, Alberta is seeking an equine veterinarian to join a six-veterinarian team. The role offers ambulatory and in-house care, opportunities for mentoring students, and a collaborative environment with round-driven case discussions.

You will manage varied caseloads from family horses to elite competitors, with in-house emergencies and surgeries, and a shared on-call schedule to ensure you can unplug when off.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary college.
• Eligibility for Alberta licensure and NEB certification steps completed.
• Experience with ambulatory and hospital-based equine care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive equine medical and surgical care, including ambulatory visits and in-house procedures.
• Collaborate with a six-veterinarian team and participate in rounds.
• Mentor students, externs and interns who visit the practice.
• Manage emergencies and see cases through from start to finish.

Delaney Veterinary Services is central and northern Alberta’s premier equine referral facility, offering ambulatory, medical, and surgical services with the highest standard of compassionate care.

Our thoughtfully-designed hospital includes a surgical suite with two recovery rooms, three exam rooms, intensive care barn, advanced endoscopy, digital radiography, ultrasonography, lameness diagnostics, and shockwave therapy.
