Job summary

Hydro One is seeking a student opportunity to support the Waste Hub with daily administrative duties, data processing, and coordination with suppliers and internal clients on hazardous and non-hazardous waste management across Ontario.

You will work with SAP and Microsoft Office tools to input, verify, and produce reports while maintaining organized filing systems and assisting in documentation and training material development.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university – studying Business, Finance, Statistics, Environmental Sciences.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with strong consulting and problem-solving abilities
• Strong working knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), SAP is an asset

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day activities of the Hydro One Waste Hub which manages the waste requirements of all Hydro One Line of Businesses across the province.
• Process administrative information and perform data processing assignments for work group to produce reports and correspondence, including input, output, verification, maintaining and updating data using SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
• Work with various external Suppliers and internal clients with regards to administrative activities involved with the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and related contracts. Process invoices and service requests. Follow up on missing information with clients and Suppliers, as required.
• Keep abreast of changes and legislation impacting the waste disposal industry, technologies, trends and alternatives. Assist in the development of specifications and descriptions of desired services, to be used to contract services.
• Assist in the documentation and review of procedural documents and training packages related to wastes.
• Set up an organized filing system (digital and paper based) and maintain files containing copies of pertinent documents. Retain documents for periods required by law and company policy.
