Job summary

Hydro One is seeking a student-focused professional to support business and technology initiatives within a collaborative environment in Markham, Ontario. You will gain hands-on experience with SAP, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and SharePoint, supporting field staff and business users across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program related to IT or software engineering.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is expected.
• Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft 365 apps, Copilot, Power Automate, Power BI, SQL or scripting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review business requirements, functional specs and technical docs to support solution development.
• Use system utilities and diagnostic tools to identify issues and improve performance.
• Assist with troubleshooting operational, user and data-related issues.
• Participate in design discussions, demos and stand-ups.
• Support AI automation initiatives and SAP-related processes, including user support.

As part of a collaborative team environment, the successful candidate will support a variety of business and technology initiatives while gaining exposure to enterprise systems, automation, data management, and utility operations.

Your Job Duties May Include

• Reviewing and understanding business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to support solution development.
• Utilizing system utilities, networking tools, and diagnostic resources to identify issues and enhance system performance.
• Assisting with troubleshooting operational, user, and data-related issues.
• Participating in technical design discussions, demonstrations, and semi-weekly stand-up meetings.
• Supporting AI automation initiatives, Microsoft Copilot, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 (including Teams), Power Platform solutions, and SAP, including both direct and indirect user support.
• Assisting field staff, business users, and support teams by responding to inquiries and helping resolve issues.
• Supporting the development, testing, and implementation of process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Assisting with periodic data cleanup, validation, reporting, and review activities.
• Contributing to the sustainment of Hydro One's business operations and field work execution processes. Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Technology Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft 365 applications, Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Power BI, SQL, scripting, or other AI and automation tools would be considered an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, writing, research, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated interest in technology, innovation, automation, and continuous learning.
• Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business requirements.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence.
• Ability to travel occasionally across Ontario, as required.
