Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an Environmental Services II (cleaner) to clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, and public spaces at Hanna Health Centre. Training will be provided to ensure safety and adherence to AHS standards. Shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends.

The role involves cleaning duties, restocking supplies, and operating cleaning equipment in a healthcare setting. This is a regular part-time position with 0.40 FTE and a 7.75-hour shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, and common staff/public areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum; restock bathroom supplies; strip linen and make beds.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; wash ceilings and windows.
• Identify and report potential hazards to your Working Leader; may provide training/orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
