Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an Environmental Services II to clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, and common areas at Hanna Health Centre. Training is provided to meet AHS standards and practices.

Shifts may include day, evening, and weekends, with a 0.40 FTE commitment. As part of Linen and Environmental Services, you will perform duties such as sweeping, mopping, restocking, and operating cleaning equipment, while identifying hazards and supporting staff orientation as

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Prior cleaning experience preferred in healthcare.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs; operate cleaning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical and non-clinical areas.
• Restock bathroom supplies and linens.
• Operate cleaning equipment for floor maintenance.
• Identify hazards and report to supervisor.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.

Required Qualifications:
