Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Daysland Health Centre is seeking an Environmental Services staff member to maintain a clean, safe healthcare environment. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, restocking supplies, operating cleaning equipment, and reporting hazards to the Working Leader.

This is a 0.90 FTE, temporary part-time position with benefits, available 06-NOV-2026 and ending 06-MAY-2027, working 7.75-hour shifts per cycle.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, restock supplies and operate cleaning equipment.
• Identify and report hazards to supervision and assist in training Environmental or Laundry staff.

Job description

You will be committed to substantiate quality care in performing various cleaning duties and preventive measures to reduce the spread of infections. Some accountabilities include passing and maintaining governed room inspections, devoted positive working relationships and respect confidentiality.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
