Job description

Clean Harbors in Winnipeg, MB is seeking an Equipment Operator (Class 3) to join their safety conscious team! This role involves operating heavy equipment within company/customer facilities to stage and move waste material. The role will also require performing labor-intensive duties such as hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials. The position can also require working in confined spaces for tank and vessel cleaning.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and transport a variety of equipment, wet vacs, dry vacs, steam trucks, and related industrial equipment.
  • Perform tank/vessel cleaning and hazardous waste cleanup, including maneuvering large hoses.
  • Conduct pre-/post-trip inspections and ensure safe, proper equipment operation, report issues promptly.
  • Respond to emergencies involving chemical spills and support routine decontamination tasks.
  • Operate light/heavy equipment (pumps, vac systems, generators, bobcats) and use various hand and powered industrial tools.
  • Maintain equipment and follow all safety and environmental procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Current Class 3 Licensed Operator.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission.
  • Vacuum Truck operating is highly preferred.
  • Willing to work after hours/nights for emergency response purposes.
  • Willing to work out of town for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Safety tickets (First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, etc.) highly preferred.
