Job summary

RailWorks Corporation is seeking an entry-level Project Coordinator to support project execution in our Canadian operations. The role involves documentation, cost control, and coordinating timely delivery of supplies and materials, with training opportunities for advancement.

You will assist in planning, budgeting, safety, and quality initiatives while working closely with track managers, clients, and subcontractors in a hybrid office setting.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Contract Management or Project Management.
• 2 years of experience in construction or railroad industry.
• Encompasses general concepts of project management.
• Proficiency with business and construction software (MS Office, MS Project, MS Outlook; Primavera P6, Hard Dollar or JD Edwards is an asset).
• Ability to apply, interpret and understand contract law and language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proper grammar and punctuation.
• Strong client relations, influencing skills and organizational abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare scope of work to fulfill project requirements.
• Prepare budgets and revenue estimates based on scope and specs.
• Develop work plans and methodologies, obtain permits, organize resources, coordinate tasks with stakeholders.
• Assist in procuring material, equipment, and services.
• Prepare supporting reports and documents for project requirements and invoicing.
• Attend internal and client meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Monitor and evaluate performance of on-site employees and subcontractors.
• Prepare and analyze cost, budget, production and other reports for management.
• Promote safety culture and ensure quality control standards are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
