Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. invites applications for an Engineering Student position in the Winnipeg district. This 4-month term, with potential extension to 8 or 12 months, starts in January 2027.

The role focuses on coordinating drawings, trade quotes, and project meetings within a collaborative construction environment. Responsibilities include updating field drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and assisting with Primavera P6 and AutoCAD scheduling.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings and work specific scope/trades/sub-trades
• Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates
• Participation in project meetings
• Completion of deficiency walks and updating of deficiency logs
• Issues warranties
• Takes/coordinates progress photos
• Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings
• Performance of quantity takeoffs
• Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings
• Set-up and maintenance of records
• Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software
• Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
• Monitoring of workforce productivity
