Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Winnipeg invites applications for an Engineering Student in the Winnipeg district, within the Canadian Buildings sector, starting January 2027. This 4-month term may extend to 8 or 12 months.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in construction environments.
• Prior field construction experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with common software: word processing, spreadsheets and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and scope/trades/sub-trades.
• Review trade quantities, hours and rates for quotes.
• Participate in project meetings and update deficiency logs.
• Take/coordinate progress photos and update field drawings.
• Create and maintain as-built drawings and schedules.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and site condition verifications.
• Maintain project records and support Primavera P6 scheduling and AutoCAD graphics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings and work specific scope/trades/sub-trades
• Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates
• Participation in project meetings
• Completion of deficiency walks and updating of deficiency logs.
• Issues warranties
• Takes/coordinates progress photos
• Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings
• Performance of quantity takeoffs
• Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings
• Set-up and maintenance of records
• Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software.
• Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD
• Monitoring of workforce productivity

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
