Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking an Engineering Student for a 4-month placement starting January 2027. You will contribute to real projects, gain hands-on experience, and work under mentorship within the Canadian Buildings sector.

This role emphasizes learning, development, and building a foundation for a future full-time path. Eligible candidates are pursuing a civil engineering degree or diploma, with a willingness to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance.

• Pursuing a civil engineering degree or diploma.
• Eligible for Government of Canada reliability security clearance.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets and drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deficiency walks.
• Coordinate and supervise sub-trade work.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Track site progress and deficiencies.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
• Coordinate, marks up and updates drawings.
• Coordinates work specific scope and trades.
• Conducts trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Inputs and updates deficiency logs.
• Participates in project meetings.
• Performs quantity take-offs.
• Produces as-built drawings.
• Sets-up and maintains record keeping.

Join us as aEngineering Studentfor our Ottawadistrict, within our Canadian Buildings sectorfor 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Engineering Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
• Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering related field
• Eligible to obtain and maintain, a Government of Canada security clearance at the Reliability Status level
• A passion for working in a construction environment.
• Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

The estimated salary range for this role is$21.25 to $30.00,based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
