Job summary

Jaylor Fabricating in Ontario is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our team. You will draft and maintain engineering drawings, product designs, CAD files and BOMs to the latest specifications, contributing to new product development and production improvements.

We value hands-on contributors with 3D CAD experience, ERP familiarity, and a strong mechanical aptitude. This in-office role offers day shifts, competitive wages and a supportive, family-focused environment at our Orton location.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma and 2-5+ years’ experience.
  • 3D CAD experience, preferably Inventor.
  • Experience with ERP software.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is an asset.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, mechanical systems, and design.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and be a highly motivated individual.
  • Ability to be “hands on” to demonstrate processes using tools and large equipment.
  • Agricultural background is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Working daily in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Drafting and maintaining engineering drawings, product designs, CAD files, Bill of Materials, etc. are maintained to the latest requirements and specifications.
  • Assisting in new product development and related documentation.
  • Completing engineering RFCs and issuing ECNs.
  • Resolve manufacturing issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Carry out a limited range of mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials.
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to source and supply components for production.
  • Complete designs and modifications for custom machine requests from customers.
