Job summary

Jaylor Fabricating in Ontario is hiring a Manual Press Operator to join our team. You will set up dies, feed and form heavy steel components on hydraulic presses, and verify tolerances against drawings.

This role requires 2+ years of experience with hydraulic presses, strong attention to detail and safety-minded work habits. We offer training, competitive wages, and a 4x10 shift with weekends off in a family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating heavy-duty hydraulic press.
  • Ability to read part drawings and follow blueprints.
  • Willingness to train for crane and forklift operation; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Auger flight forming and die setup per blueprints.
  • Die adjustment for different sizes and directions.
  • Spring-back correction during pressing cycle.
  • Fit testing against central pipe and jigs.
  • Quality inspection of finished parts.
  • Safety and maintenance of equipment and workstation.

Jaylor Fabricating is looking for a Manual Press Operator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Auger Flight Forming: Set up dies and fixtures, press heavy steel plates into helical shapes, maintaining consistent pitch, diameter, according to blueprints.
  • Die Adjustment: Select, install, and align correct dies sets for different auger flight sizes, pitches, and directions.
  • Spring-Back Correction: Monitor material behavior during the pressing cycle and manually adjust for variances to maintain accuracy.
  • Fit Testing: Check formed segments against central pipe, shafts or jigs to ensure proper fit.
  • Quality Inspection: Inspect finished products using various tools and jigs to ensure tolerance.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Perform routine basic maintenance, follow all company safety protocols, and maintain a clean workstation.

Pay: $27.90-32.90 per hour

Requirements
Required Skills
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience operating heavy-duty hydraulic press. (willing to train the right candidate).
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding to accurately handle 3D helical bending and read part drawings.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and lift 50 lbs.
  • Attributes: Attention to detail, punctuality, and a collaborative team mindset.
  • Able to operate an overhead crane (Jaylor will train and certify, experience is an asset)
  • Able to operate forklifts (Jaylor will train and certify, experience is an asset)
  • Welding experience an asset.
  • Great communication skills
  • Has an eye for detail
  • Enjoys working with machines
