Job summary

Jaylor Fabricating is seeking a Welder-Fitter II to join our Ontario team. The role involves welding large components, operating heavy machinery, and collaborating with fitters to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years of welding experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to mentor others while adhering to OHSA safety standards. This in-person position offers a 4x10 shift and competitive hourly wages.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-10+ years of welding experience.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Ability to operate an overhead crane (Jaylor will train and certify).
  • Physical requirements include standing for long periods and lifting.
  • Willingness to teach others and share skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Enjoys working with machines and manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Cross-train and mentor junior welders to improve efficiency and weld quality.
  • Welding large components and operating heavy machinery.
  • Complete tacking, welding, grinding, and finishing per production needs.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and instructions.
  • Operate welding equipment based on material type, thickness, and weld config.
  • Visually inspect welds for quality, consistency, and defects.
  • Collaborate with team and production staff to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Follow OHSA safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-train and mentor junior welders to help them become efficient in producing quality welds, when applicable.
  • Welding large components and operating heavy machinery.
  • Complete tacking, welding, grinding, and finishing work as it is required to support production.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and welding instructions.
  • Operate a variety of welding equipment based on material type, thickness, join configuration, and welding requirements.
  • After welds are completed, visually inspect for quality, consistency, appearance, and any obvious defects before moving on to other work.
  • Work with the team, including fellow fitters, supervisors, and production staff to support quality of work and on-time delivery of the product.
  • Follow all safety regulations in accordance with OHSA and company policies.

Pay: $31.30 - $36.30 per hour

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5-10+ years of welding experience

  • Ability to operate heavy machinery, tools, etc.
  • Physical requirements include standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds, and bending
  • Willingness to teach

  • Enjoys working with machines
