Job summary

The City of Mississauga is seeking a motivated co-op student to support the Energy Management team in day-to-day duties. You will collaborate with our team to advance energy efficiency initiatives and data-driven reporting across City facilities.

Responsibilities include utilities management, energy benchmarking, data analysis, and CMMS maintenance. This hybrid role is based at the Civic Centre with a 35-hour work week and a temporary contract from January to April 2027.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-op program.
• Proof of enrolment must be uploaded.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Co-op program enrolment for Work Term required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with utilities management.
• Assist with Energy Benchmarking and Re-commissioning.
• Analyse data and support reporting.
• Assist with database management (data entry and validation).
• Collect and verify site equipment data for HVAC, lighting, water fixtures and other systems.
• Estimate energy consumption for new City facilities budgets.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems and live metering for anomalies.
• Configure and manage SkySpark Energy Management software.
• Assist in grant applications for incentive programs.
• Assist with maintenance contracts management.
• Create Power BI reports and analyses.
• Maintain CMMS for building assets.
• Test and troubleshoot systems.
• Assist with asset inventory.
• Duties may vary based on academic background.
