Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Red Deer is seeking a Unit Clerk to support the Endoscopy and Surgical Services teams. You will coordinate the flow of information between nurses, physicians and patients, while maintaining strict confidentiality and accurate records.

The role includes reception duties, scheduling tests, transcribing orders and general administrative tasks to keep the unit running smoothly. This is a temporary, part-time position with benefits and a 0.40 FTE schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate efficient communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families.
• Perform reception duties, greet and direct visitors, and maintain patient records and charts.
• Transcribe and process physician orders, and schedule patient tests and treatments.
• Perform a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
