Kelowna General Hospital, part of Interior Health, is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Nursing Unit Clerk to join our dynamic healthcare team in Kelowna, British Columbia. If you're organized, compassionate, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you!

The role supports physicians and nursing staff by prioritizing orders, coordinating schedules, maintaining charts, and handling data entry into health information systems.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with medical terminology and completion of a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• One year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Completion of a typing certificate of 40 wpm within the last 48 months from an approved institution.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, process, coordinate and transcribe physicians’ orders.
• Act as a communication link for the Unit.
• Schedule, book and coordinate patient/resident appointments.
• Assemble and maintain patient/resident charts and input data into health record systems.
• Perform clerical duties: data entry, filing, reports and meeting minutes.
• Maintain timekeeping records for regular/relief staff and enter into payroll systems.
• Monitor patient/resident call signals and relay messages to the appropriate personnel.
