Job summary

CPA Ontario is seeking an Employer Relations Officer to evaluate CPA student work plans against the practical experience framework and provide clear feedback. You will manage a portfolio of training employers, assist mentors and organizations in developing training work plans, and ensure compliance across programs.

The role requires strong professional judgement, experience in public accounting or related sectors, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing with at least five years post-qualification experience.
• University degree or college diploma required.
• Experience in public accounting, corporate, government, regulatory or professional services.
• Ability to interpret competency-based requirements and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student work plans and experience reports against the framework and provide feedback.
• Manage a portfolio of training employers and ensure positive experiences.
• Assist employers in developing training work plans for CPA students.
• Monitor external audits of training programs and eligibility requirements.
• Plan and execute projects to strengthen stakeholder engagement and compliance.
