Job summary

The Leslie Group Ltd. is seeking a client-focused professional in Calgary to manage service delivery for group benefits clients.

You will act as a reliable contact, coordinate with carriers, and support onboarding and ongoing administration with a proactive service mindset. Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years in group benefits, a Bachelor's degree, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • College or university education is required.
  • 2–3 years of experience in the group benefits industry in a client-facing role.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for client questions, coordinating with carriers and internal teams.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to provide proactive service, virtually and in person.
  • Support employee meetings and information sessions as needed.
  • Review client accounts and relationships to suggest value enhancements based on industry trends.
  • Assist clients with day-to-day benefits administration issues.
  • Follow up with carriers on inquiries, billing questions, and claim status to move things forward.
  • Prepare clear member communications for plan changes and updates.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients by gathering enrolment data and coordinating with carriers.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Relationship Management

Act as a reliable point of contact for client questions, either handling requests directly or coordinating with carriers and internal team members

Maintain regular contact with clients to provide proactive, consistent service — both virtually and in person

Support employee meetings and information sessions when needed

Review client accounts and relationships, recommending ways to enhance value based on an understanding of their business and industry trends

Day-to-Day Administration

Assist clients with service issues that arise from day-to-day benefits administration

Follow up with insurance carriers on client inquiries, billing questions, and claim status to help move things forward in a timely way

Create clear, easy-to-understand member communications for plan changes, coverage increases, and other updates

Assist with onboarding new clients by gathering enrolment and underwriting information and coordinating with carriers to ensure plans are set up correctly

Strategic Advice & Reporting

Provide service and strategic advice to a range of small to mid-market clients across various industries

Provide analysis of clients' financial arrangements and claims experience, and prepare and present reports and recommendations related to group benefit projects

Provide technical advice and expertise to clients regarding plan design recommendations, costings, renewals, and industry changes

Write and deliver presentations and communications to existing and prospective clients that are thorough, powerful, and persuasive

Business Support & Collaboration

Meetwith prospective clients, analyzing policy details, preparing reports, negotiating with insurance carriers, and overseeing the implementation process

Establish strong working relationships internally with consultants and the service team to collaborate and partner on projects

Recommend new approaches to work processes and develop innovative ideas for continuous process improvement

Professional Development

Participate in webinars and training to stay current on products, trends, and best practices

What We’re Looking For

A client-focused professional who genuinely cares about helping people

College or university education

2–3 years of experience in the group benefits industry in a client-facing role

Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities at once in a fast-paced environment

Clear, calm communication style — especially when dealing with sensitive or complex situations

A solutions-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills

A collaborative team player who values doing things right and doing them consistently

Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle

Education

A Bachelor's degree is required, or equivalent years of industry experience

Commitment to professional development

Required to complete the Life License Course and Examination (LLQP) within the first 12 months of employment
