Lead the Unexpected!Temporary Full TimeAre you prepared to lead when it matters most? The District of Squamish is hiring a temporary full-time Emergency Program Manager. This role oversees the development, review and implementation of the District?s emergency management plans, as well as play a pivotal role in the District?s Emergency Operations Centre during any incident response. This position collaborates with senior leadership and other staff across the organization to coordinate emergency management initiatives, and provides oversight to Emergency Support Services volunteers in the community.With alocal state of emergency declared due to the ongoing Dryden Creek wildfire, yourfirst priority will be supporting the District?s emergency response effortsand overseeing the coordination of resources to protect our community.While the position operates primarily during business hours, availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities is expected, with a maximum emergency response time of 45 minutes from time of call to on-scene.What we?re looking for: Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and calm leader who has a post-secondary degree with a focus on emergency management or a related discipline, and five years? progressive experience in emergency management.
