This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Email & SMS Specialist based in Canada.

As an Email & SMS Specialist, you will manage the complete lifecycle of email and SMS marketing campaigns, from planning and creative development to deployment and performance analysis. You will play a key role in driving customer engagement, strengthening brand loyalty, and supporting e-commerce revenue through targeted, data-driven communications. Working closely with marketing, creative, merchandising, and CRM teams, you will develop compelling campaigns that deliver the right message to the right audience. You will use audience segmentation, A/B testing, and performance insights to continuously improve campaign effectiveness. This role also offers the opportunity to integrate generative AI and automation into marketing workflows, helping the team scale efficiently during high-volume periods. If you enjoy taking ownership, experimenting with new technologies, and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity offers an exciting platform to grow your expertise.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end creation and execution of email and SMS campaigns, including template development, image slicing, creative placement, audience selection, quality assurance, and deployment.
  • Build and maintain monthly campaign calendars, coordinating promotional activities and content schedules to support marketing objectives and maximize customer engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with brand marketing, creative, merchandising, partnerships, and CRM teams to ensure campaigns are aligned with brand guidelines, commercial priorities, and delivery timelines.
  • Oversee daily campaign quality assurance, verifying content accuracy, links, formatting, audience targeting, and overall readiness before deployment.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators, including open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and other relevant engagement metrics.
  • Design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests across subject lines, messaging, creative assets, and send times to identify opportunities for continuous optimization.
  • Apply generative AI tools and platform-based AI features to improve campaign workflows, including copywriting, audience segmentation, quality assurance, and performance reporting.
  • Explore and pilot new AI-powered solutions and automation processes to increase efficiency, particularly during peak campaign periods, while preserving brand voice and maintaining appropriate human oversight.
  • Partner with analytics and CRM specialists to strengthen audience segmentation, leverage customer insights, and develop more relevant, personalized marketing communications.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable email and SMS marketing regulations, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR, as relevant to campaign audiences and jurisdictions.
  • Stay informed about emerging email and SMS marketing trends, technologies, and best practices, recommending process improvements that enhance campaign quality and operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of campaign performance and reporting, using data-driven insights to make recommendations and improve marketing effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or possess equivalent relevant qualifications or professional experience.
  • Have 1–3 years of hands-on email marketing experience, including campaign execution, content development, testing, and performance monitoring.
  • Demonstrate practical experience using generative AI tools or AI-powered features within email and SMS marketing platforms to improve productivity, streamline workflows, or enhance campaign results.
  • Possess a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret campaign metrics, identify performance trends, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Understand email marketing compliance requirements, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR, and their application to relevant campaigns and audiences.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple campaigns, competing priorities, and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have strong written communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across marketing, creative, merchandising, and analytics teams.
  • Show initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment with new marketing tools and approaches while applying sound judgment to protect brand voice, content quality, and customer experience.
  • Experience with platforms and tools such as Emarsys, Wunderkind, Google Analytics, Heap, Adobe Suite, or Canva is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS for email development is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in retail or e-commerce marketing is preferred.
  • A genuine interest in the culinary industry and an appreciation for food, cooking, and lifestyle brands would be beneficial.
  • Be comfortable working independently in a remote environment, taking ownership of projects from planning through execution and reporting.
Benefits:
  • Remote work: Work remotely from Canada, with flexibility to manage your responsibilities in a distributed team environment.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage: Access to medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Retirement savings: RRSP matching to support long-term financial planning.
