Job summary

Blackburn Elementary School in Prince George is seeking a 0.1 FTE Grade K-7 ELL teacher for a limited duration contract. The position requires eligibility for the BC Teaching Certificate and experience with assessment-focused teaching.

Applicants with trauma-informed practice and Indigenous curriculum integration are preferred. Applicants should have a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the district.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate.
• Copy of TRB letter if certificate is conditional.
• Knowledge of redesigned BC curriculum and core competencies.
• Evidence of appropriate qualifications and teaching experience.
• Proven ability with assessment as learning strategies.
• Experience integrating Indigenous culture and Truth and Reconciliation principles.
• Ability to use diverse teaching strategies for all learners in an inclusive setting.
• Experience integrating experiential and inquiry learning into curriculum.
• Training in social and emotional learning.
• Proven classroom management and organization strengths.
• Commitment to collaborating in a team setting.
• Experience using technology in curriculum delivery.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
