Salary: $64,341.00 - $121,722.00 + ($3500.00 provincial recruitment and retention allowance) Assignment: .20 Continuing Specialist Position

The School District

Nechako Lakes is situated on the traditional unceded territories of fourteen First Nations encompassing the Dakelh, Nedut'en and Wet'suwet'en peoples. The school district encompasses five municipalities, the Districts of Fort St James and Vanderhoof and the Villages of Fraser Lake, Burns Lake and Granisle. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (Elementary).
• A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare.
• Must have a degree, specialized training, or demonstrated teaching experience in English Language Learning (ELL) and/or English as a Second Dialect (ESD) classrooms at the K-12 level.
• Two years of relevant experience would be considered an asset.
• Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at elementary grade levels.
• Ability to develop and coordinate implementation of Annual Instructional Plans.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning experiences.
• Proven interpersonal skills and high degree of flexibility.
• Demonstrated ability to use inclusive instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working from an inclusion perspective to address diverse learning needs.
• Understand and use a trauma-informed approach in professional practice.
• Experience and knowledge using competency-based assessment strategies.
• Demonstrate collaborative teamwork with various professional and paraprofessional staff.
• Experience in differentiating instruction to create success in learning for each student.
• Experience in integrating appropriate technologies into instructional practices to improve learning outcomes for students.
