Job summary

Oxford Learning West Vancouver is seeking a part-time Elementary Reading, Writing & Math Tutor to join our team. You’ll work with elementary students in a supportive small-group setting and help reinforce literacy and math skills.

No lesson planning is required; all materials are provided. We’re looking for university students or graduates with strong English and a passion for helping children learn, who are punctual and reliable, with the ability to explain concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• University student or recent graduate
• Strong English communication skills
• Comfortable with elementary reading, writing and math
• Able to explain concepts clearly and in different ways
• Dependable, punctual and eager to learn
• Vulnerable sector screening may be required

Responsibilities

• Work with elementary-aged students in a small-group setting (up to three students)
• Support learning in reading, phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, sentence/paragraph writing, spelling, elementary math, and study skills
• Use provided Oxford Learning materials and programs (no lesson planning required)
• Maintain consistent weekly schedule and provide reliable, positive instruction
