Job summary

Quinn Digital Asset Protection is seeking an Electronic Security Service Technician to join our Mississauga team. This full-time, on-site role installs, configures, and services CCTV, alarms, access control, and intercom systems for retail, commercial, education, and logistics clients.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and deliver thorough service reports. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electronic security, reads drawings, and holds a tech diploma or apprenticeship

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience with alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intercom technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations within Ontario.
• Relevant technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in electronic security, telecommunications, or related field.
• Industry certifications from major CCTV, access control, or alarm manufacturers are assets.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and service CCTV, alarms, access control, intercoms, and related devices at client sites.
• Perform system diagnostics, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and conduct preventative maintenance.
• Complete service reports and coordinate with project managers, technicians, and client representatives.
• Travel within Ontario region to customer locations as required and respond to service calls.

Role Description The Electronic Security Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Mississauga, ON. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and servicing electronic security systems, including CCTV, alarms, access control, intercoms, and related networked devices for retail, commercial, education, and logistics clients. Day-to-day tasks include performing system diagnostics, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and completing service reports. The technician will work directly at client sites, collaborating with project managers, other technicians, and client representatives to ensure systems are functioning optimally and meet safety, security, and compliance requirements. The role does involve occasional travel within the Ontario region, working with tools and test equipment, and responding to service calls and emergency issues as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for electronic security systems and related hardware.
• Knowledge of network security principles as they apply to connected security devices.
• Minimum 5 years experience working with alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intercom technologies.
• Understanding of occupational health and safety practices when working on-site and with electrical/electronic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
• Experience with IP-based systems, basic networking, and cabling (Ethernet, coaxial, low-voltage wiring).
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete service records accurately.
• Strong, effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when interacting with clients and team members.
• Valid and Clean driver’s G license and ability to travel to customer locations as required.
• Relevant technical diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in electronic security, telecommunications, or a related field.
• Industry certifications (e.g., from major CCTV, access control, or alarm manufacturers) are considered an asset.
• The ideal candidate would be fluent and certified in both Synergis and Omnicast and comfortable working on large Enterprise Server based systems..
