You will read schematics, inspect equipment, and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC systems while maintaining and repairing components. You’ll assist with machining, lubrication, and assembling equipment, ensuring up-time of automated production lines.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical, Mechanical or Robotic welding related program.
  • Basic understanding of robotics systems (Fanuc, Panasonic).
  • Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (Omron, AB).
  • Ability to read operations standards, blue prints and manuals.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Read schematic drawings.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure up-time of automated production equipment.

Summary:

F&P’s welding department consists of a number of automated production lines that uses mainly GMAW robotic processes as well as some Resistance welding technology. This equipment includes a wide variety of robots such as Panasonic, Tawers, Fanuc material handlers, OTC welding systems as well as Yaskawa Motoman. All equipment is PLC controlled using either Omron or Allen Bradley PLC’s. Welding also includes a variety of highly automated equipment such as vision systems and the use of laser technology, 350 welding robotic systems and over 400 total robots. Together these areas offer maintenance staff the opportunity to work on a wide range of highly automated equipment in a continuous improvement work environment.

Position Overview:

  • Read schematic drawings

What You Need:

  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical, Mechanical or Robotic welding related program
  • Have a basic theoretical understanding of the following:
    • Robotics systems (Fanuc, Panasonic…..)
    • Programmable logic controllers (Omron, AB……)
    • Hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling water systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication
    • Ability to read and understand operations standards, blue prints, maintenance and equipment manuals, etc.
  • Experienced with all common office software such as (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Project)
  • May be required to lift in excess of 40 lbs on occasion

F&P Mfg., Inc. Co-op Tiered Rate Program:

Successful students for F&P Mfg., Inc. Co-op positions will be eligible for our new tiered wage rate program.

Co-op #1 Rate: $23.85 per hour

Co-op #2 Rate: $26.18 per hour

Co-op #3 Rate $30.61 per hour

Upon successful graduation of their program, candidates will be considered for a direct offer of employment at F&P Mfg., Inc., (if applicable).

This program encourages and allows students to continue their subsequent co-op terms with F&P Mfg., Inc. throughout their program of studies to graduation upon receiving a successful and positive evaluation.

Disclosure:

If a student is on their 2 nd or 3 rd co-op of their respective program and have never completed a co-op program at F&P before, they will be placed into our Co-op #1 rate at $23.38 per hour. Other circumstances can be discussed upon hiring.

Hours of Work:

  • Bi-weekly Rotating Shifts

Monday to Friday – (2 weeks on days 7:00AM to 3:00PM, 2 weeks on afternoons 3:00PM to 11:00PM)

  • Straight Midnight

Sunday to Thursday – (11:00PM to 7:00AM)
