Job Purpose

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for machine wiring, panel building, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting industrial electrical equipment and controls.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes for installation layouts.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, and other components.
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors and hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems and related devices.
  • Install and calibrate industrial instrumentation as needed.
  • Work with safety control systems, robotic cells, and troubleshoot machines.
  • Conduct service and installations on and off the company facility.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and start-up of light curtains and emergency stop circuits.
  • Travel up to 50% within North America; valid passport required.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid 442A or 309A Electrical License.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Experience with network configuration, setup, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of safety circuits, control systems, and robotic cells.
Education/Experience

Completion of a four or five-year industrial electrician apprenticeship or electrical technician program, or working towards it. At least 3 years of experience with live electrical components in an automation or material handling industry.

  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Detail-oriented.
Working Conditions

Manufacturing environment with low to moderate noise, dust, and smoke. May involve exposure to hazardous materials like grease, oils, lubricants, paint, and cleaners, with awareness of safety cautions.

Physical Requirements

Regular talking and hearing; frequent standing and walking; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to work at heights and work under machinery.
