Job summary

DMC Mining Services is hiring Electricians on a contract basis for the Cadomin Mine site in Alberta. The role is FIFO with a 14 days on/14 days off schedule and 12-hour day and night shifts.

You will install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and equipment underground, supporting the development of the mine including shop, ventilation, dump hopper and passageways. Applicants should have an Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) license (309A) and relevant underground experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete underground electrical installation and testing of wiring and equipment
• Support maintenance of underground systems including cables, ventilation, and shop fit-out
• Repair mining equipment and assist with electrical scope as directed by supervisor
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures
• Maintain and monitor personal tool inventory and notify supervisor when items are needed
• Read prints and ensure compliance with electrical codes
• Test circuits with meters and oscilloscopes for safety and continuity
• Work at heights and around explosives as required

Job description

Summary

DMC Mining Services is hiring Electricians on a contract basis at the Cadomin Mine site in Alberta. The position is fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) with a 14 days on/14 days off schedule. The worker will perform day and night shifts of 12 hours each, installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring and equipment in compliance with relevant codes. This role supports the underground development of a mine, including a shop, ventilation systems, dump hopper, sump, and passageways.

Responsibilities

• Complete construction works such as cable installation, termination, testing, and general use of small hand tools for an underground dump hopper, ventilation fan systems, an underground shop fit‑out, and installation of an overhead crane and associated steel.
• Support operational teams for maintenance and underground scope, including installation of electrical cables, general repairs, and mining operation support.
• Repair equipment such as 50 t haul trucks, 12‑yard LHDs, 2‑boom jumbos, a bolter, utility trucks, and a scavenger excavator.
• Assist with maintenance work directed by the supervisor, including repairs, electrical scope, and other support as needed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Keep a complete personal basic trade tool inventory, monitor and track consignment stock, and notify the supervisor when additional items are required.
• Read complex prints and demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical codes.
• Test electrical systems for continuity using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure safety.
• Be experienced and comfortable working at heights.
• Follow standard safety operating procedures, including accountability for completed work and not modifying OEM equipment without Engineering approval.
• Use tooling such as drills and grinders as required.
• Be prepared to work around explosives and undergo security checks.
• Takes responsibility for occupational health, safety, and environmental matters within the area of control, including required medical and drug testing.
• Demonstrate commitment to continued improvement of occupational health, safety, and environment.
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License (309A) is preferred.
• Ontario Basic Underground Common Core – 770010 Program (U0000‑U0001‑U0002‑U0012) is an asset.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills are expected.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working underground.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
• Hourly rate is expected to be between $20 to $28 CAD plus an hourly incentive bonus.
