Job description

Agilus is recruiting for an Electrician in the Industrial Equipment Supply Industry in Sudbury, Ontario.

The Journeyman Electrician - Service Technician will provide inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical overhead cranes and hoists.

A typical day :

1. Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, as directed.
2. Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to determine causes of equipment malfunction and establish necessary repairs using visual inspection, test procedures, and appropriate test equipment.
3. Perform a general post-repair audit prior to work completion, ensuring all safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies with a deficiency tag attached to the crane.
4. Document findings and make corrective recommendations during safety reviews, including a written "Safety Notification" of any observed or known safety concerns, if appropriate.
5. Consult with customers regarding repair and safety issues, reviewing recommendations that improve safety and productivity before leaving the job site.
6. Complete and provide proper electronic documentation using established digital tools, obtaining customer signatures and acceptance.
7. Read, understand, and apply relevant codes and regulations such as CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, etc.
8. Maintain all company-issued equipment, vehicle, and assets in safe and proper working order.

Successful candidates will have :

1. Journeyman Industrial Electrician certification.
2. A minimum of 1 year experience involving electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair; electronic experience is a plus but not necessary; prior crane experience is advantageous.
3. A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
4. Willingness and ability to work off the ground, perform varied overtime, be on "on call" rotation, and travel out of town occasionally.
5. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs. daily, and occasionally 75 lbs., with rare occasions of lifting 100 lbs. This includes frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, overhead reaching, and occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. Work environment includes inside (90%) and outside (10%), with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights.
