The Headlines :

In the role of Industrial Electrician in Chilliwack, British Columbia, you will be responsible for electrical plant maintenance. This position requires flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends. The Industrial Electrician is an essential member of a team that uses established world-class manufacturing processes to challenge current practices and identify, implement, and sustain improvements. This is a full-time union role (Local 300) that pays $44.68/hr during a 90-day probationary period, plus benefits. The shift schedule is rotating: Monday – Friday, with days (6:00 am - 2:00 pm), afternoons (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm), and nights (10:00 pm - 6:00 am).

The Responsibilities :
  • Complete preventative, corrective, and emergency work orders for all plant electrical equipment.
  • Perform electrical installations and modifications, including conduit bending, cable installation, equipment mounting, automation system installation, and lighting repair.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs and Device Net.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, manuals, ladder diagrams, troubleshooting guides, PLC programs, and control diagrams.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair analog and digital circuits, microprocessor devices, PLCs, and electronic controllers.
  • Use electrical test and recording equipment safely and effectively.
  • Communicate with other departments to address electrical needs.
  • Utilize SAP for work order management and generate maintenance records and reports.
  • Adhere to electrical safety principles, proper tool use, and safety procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader.
The Other Qualifications :
  • Provincial TQ and Red Seal IP certification in electrical work required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in FMCG industry and high-speed packaging or brewing equipment preferred.
  • Basic PC troubleshooting skills, including Windows and common components.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation hardware/software, especially PLC-5 and Logix platforms, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and batch processing systems (S88/S95).
  • Awareness of arc-flash and shock hazards is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in changing environments and in cold/warm climates.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong computer skills, including SAP experience.
