Reports to: Team Lead, Engineering Manager

Based at: Regional Office

Position Purpose: Working closely with the Project Manager, assisting on various projects, and contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of the service line. Provides exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (consultants, contractors, etc.).

Specific Responsibilities Include

  • Work with the Team lead/ Project Manager/ Branch Manager/ Engineering Manager in providing our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager; this includes collecting and coordinating useful information.
  • Maintain a working relationship with other teammates.
  • Participate in discussions with client, as required.
  • Assist in technical report writing
  • Preparation of the following project documentation:
  • addendums
  • change orders
  • equipment supply contracts
  • site instruction
  • stipulated price contracts
  • unit price contracts
  • Prepare engineering design, specification and/or recommendations for a variety of the following:
  • control systems
  • grounding
  • hazardous area classification
  • heat tracing systems
  • high and medium low voltage power systems
  • life safety systems
  • lighting systems
  • low tension building systems engineering
  • low voltage power systems
  • security systems
  • commissioning of electrical systems
  • energy analysis and management
  • Gain an understanding of quality control
  • Under supervision write basic field inspections and technical reports
  • Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WE Purpose and Core Values.
  • Teammates are required to adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.
  • Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required.


Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Status with appropriate Provincial Association
  • Working towards a P.Eng.


Skills And Capabilities

  • Good interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of opinions and has an open, clear and succinct communication style.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
  • Ability to represent the company to WE teammates, clients and community by ensuring the best image is presented.
  • Application knowledge of WE systems and programs (including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, AGI 32 Software)
  • Ability to write basic field inspections and technical reports
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge in energy analysis and management, grounding, hazardous area classification, heat tracing systems, high and medium low voltage power systems, life safety systems, lighting systems, low tension building systems engineering, low voltage power systems, low tension building systems engineering, security systems.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of specification preparation: Div 1 General, Div. 15 Mechanical Specifications, Div 16 Electrical Specifications.
  • Developing capability in emergency power systems; generators, UPS, communication systems.
  • Proven capability in basic electricity.
  • Understanding of the ethical application of technical work.
  • Work towards a capability in engineering calculations with accurate, clear design notes.
  • Understand the process for tracking correspondence and work method preparation.
  • Able to interpret; basic multi disciplinary drawings, basic plan and profile drawings.
