Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Electrical Drafter/Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and drafting detailed and accurate drawings, schematics, and diagrams. You will play a key role in conceptualizing, developing, and refining electrical designs for our diverse range of projects.

Responsibilities

1.Collaborate with engineers and other consultants to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints.

2.Utilize 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD and Revit) to create innovative and detailed electrical designs.

3.Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and other data to assess design factors

4.Contribute to the design and development of schematics and construction grade drawings

5.Perform design analysis and simulations to validate and optimize electrical components for power, lighting, and other systems.

6.Conduct thorough research to stay updated on industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies

7.Ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications

8.Coordinate drawings with other engineering disciplines and consultants

9.Make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback and design changes

10.Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation

11.Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback, and incorporating suggestions into designs

12.Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement

Qualifications

1.A diploma from an accredited institution. Related programs include:

• Electrical Engineering Technology or Arch Tech with interest in electrical systems
• AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP Certificates

2.Proven experience as an Electrical Drafter/Technologist or similar role

3.Proficiency in 2D/3D modeling software such as AutoCAD and Revit

4.Understanding of electrical design principles and engineering standards including lighting, lighting control, power distribution, communications, security and fire alarm systems

• Architectural technologists with an interest in electrical design will also be considered.

5.Detail-oriented and creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills to address design challenges

6.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

7.Ability to work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines

8.Familiarity with industry specific regulations and standards

9.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

10.Familiarity with lighting simulation software is desired (AGI32, Visual lighting, Dialux)
