GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an Electrical Technician who is eager to make an impact and support our manufacturing team!

As an Electrical Technician, you will work alongside a team of skilled engineers, technologists, and technicians to produce cutting-edge marine acoustic technology. Your responsibilities will include assembling, inspecting, and testing electronic components and sub-assemblies, conducting product testing, maintaining thorough documentation for product builds and compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Assemble, inspect, and test electronic components and sub-assemblies, including PCAs, wiring harnesses, and piezoelectric assemblies.
  • Perform product testing such as characterization using spectrum analyzers, impedance analyzers, insulation resistance testers, and Hipot tests.
  • Complete and maintain product build and test verification documentation and assess product compliance to quality standards.
  • Maintain product documentation including assembly and test procedures.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing.
  • Operate safely within a dynamic manufacturing environment, adhering to all safety protocols and using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Support and ensure adherence to our Quality Management System.
Qualifications
  • Formal technician or technology training from a recognized college or university.
  • Experience in electrical or electronic assembly and testing of components and systems.
  • Soldering experience with good dexterity and the ability to solder according to IPC-A_610 and IPC Class 3 Standards.
  • Experience with equipment for underwater use or PCB assembly and testing is considered an asset.
  • Ability to read engineering documentation, wiring schematics, and BoMs.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Passionate about building, testing, and producing quality products.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including safety shoes and respirators.
Security Requirements

All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
