Mine Maintenance Planner

Maintenance (2050) - Red Lake, Ontario

Department Maintenance (2050)

Minimum Experience Experienced

Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the successful candidate is responsible to compile, verify, record and process timesheets, forms and documents. The Electrical Planner will work to safety standards and support the production targets on a locally based 5-on / 2-off, day shift schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan and release work orders (task list, SOPs, permits, resourcing, BOM, tools, equipment, costs, preliminary work, scheduling date) following WRLG Work Process Standards.

Creates and distributes a weekly schedule based on the availability of team resources.

Develop work packages that clearly identify task conditions, constraints, hazard controls, permits, labor, equipment, materials, specialized tools, services, test and handover procedures, durations, sequencing, and timing.

Record maintenance activities and verify that data from completed work packages is accurately captured using (CMMS) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Determine if the work has warranty considerations.

Interface with other departments (e.g. maintenance, operations and supply chain) and other external stakeholders.

Review weekly maintenance schedule compliance. Review the daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs. Understand and recalibrate non-conformances to the plan and KPI targets and develop mitigating/corrective actions to achieve the longer-term plan.

Skills and Experience:

3+ years of electrical planning & scheduling experience

5+ years of experience in the electrical field and trade

Advanced computer skills specifically, Microsoft Office Suite are required

Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Pronto)

Have good analytical capabilities

Ability to work independently and strong attention to detail

Proven safe work approach

Excellent proven team player approach to work

Valid driver’s license

Previous underground mining experience

Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents:

Electrical Trade Certification or equivalent professional work experience

Instrumentation, electrical experience would be preferred

Additional Qualifications - Competency Requirements

Proven communication skills, both verbal, written and non-verbal.

Understand efficiency drivers in a mining operation.

Previous exposure to lean and multi-disciplinary team leadership is desirable, but not essential.

Highly organized with great attention to detail.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, showing initiative and creativity.

Good time management and interpersonal skills.

Ability to make effective, intuitive decisions under pressure.

Ability to prepare accurate records and reports.

Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems.

Knowledge of relevant local legislation.

Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Programs.

Experience with Short- and Long-range term planning.
