Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector with Utilities experience to join our team in Toronto, Etobicoke, or Thornhill. Reporting to the Construction Audit and Inspection manager, you will perform on-site audits of hydro distribution installations in Toronto and Horseshoe areas. Your role involves monitoring asset conditions and construction activities to ensure compliance with design, safety, regulatory, and client standards. This position offers the chance to work on diverse projects across our company, supporting various engineering disciplines including T&D, Utilities, EV Charging Infrastructure, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review IFC packages before construction begins
  • Participate in pre-construction and post-construction meetings
  • Conduct Field Risk Assessments & Hazard Evaluations
  • Complete daily field audits, document activities with photos
  • Ensure construction complies with design, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Verify conformance to Ontario regulations (O. Reg 22/04)
  • Issue safety and quality non-compliance reports as needed
  • Review contractor’s billing and change orders
  • Perform final walk-downs and prepare project close-out reports
Qualifications
  • Power Line Technician, Electrician Certificate, or related Electrical Engineering education/experience
  • 3-5+ years of utility and infrastructure inspection experience
  • Membership in PEO as an EIT or P.Eng is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Electrical Utility Safety Rules and industry practices
  • Familiarity with Toronto Hydro standards and codes (asset)
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and flexible hours
  • Strong communication skills
