Job description

We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a Mould Maintenance Technician at Hamilton Kent, a leading pioneer in rubber gasket manufacturing in North America. Location:

HK - Toronto

Shift:

Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3PM or 3PM to 11PM

Position Summary:

The Mold Maintenance Technician will focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning, and storage of all onsite injection and compression molds. The goal is to ensure molds are well maintained to meet production needs and manufacturer specifications.

Principal Responsibilities:
  1. Identify and resolve root causes of mold machine issues.
  2. Remove, install, set up, and hand over fully operational injection/compression machines as scheduled.
  3. Operate mobile handling equipment for machinery installation, setup, and repair.
  4. Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair molds.
  5. Use tools safely to assemble/disassemble molds and operate machine tools.
  6. Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, replacing parts, and storing molds.
  7. Collaborate with other staff during plant shutdowns and non-operational periods to restore equipment quickly.
  8. Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to safety standards and company policies.
  9. Support and implement the 5S program.
  10. Properly dispose of chemicals as per label instructions.
  11. Catalog and inventory mold parts and tooling.
  12. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Troubleshooting skills specific to molding machines.
  • Knowledge of injection molding machines.
  • Experience in rubber or plastics manufacturing preferred.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
