Job summary

Electrical Engineering Intern - Digital Power Systems at BBA Consultants in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC. This Winter 2027 trainee position invites you to join a multidisciplinary team of electrical, automation and telecom specialists working on digital power system modernization for substations.

You will assist in projects based on IEC 61850 standards, participate in lab testing, configure smart devices, design substation HMI/SCADA and prepare protection diagrams and technical documents with guidance

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to read plans and schematics
• Asset: IGEE registration
• Intermediate level of English for collaboration

Responsibilities

• Participate in IEC 61850 based projects for digital power systems
• Perform testing in the BBA digital power systems lab
• Configure smart relays and substation controllers
• Design substation HMI/SCADA and associated diagrams
• Contribute to detailed engineering documents

Within the Digital Power Systems group, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team composed of electrical, automation and telecommunications specialists. Equipped with a lab and test equipment, the group is centred around executing digitalization and modernization projects in the control, protection and automation sectors for electrical substations. You’ll be designing innovative solutions with the market’s latest technologies.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Undergraduate student in Electrical Engineering
• Ability to read plans and schematics
• Asset: student registered with the Institut en g é nie de l ’é nergie é lectrique (IGEE)
• Intermediate level of English tocollaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. Thefrequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending onongoing projects
