Job summary

BBA Consultants in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC, Canada, is seeking a Department Manager for Power Generation and Apparatus. You will plan, coordinate and oversee the department's operations, leading engineering and field services professionals on off-grid power, heavy industry projects and commissioning.

Your leadership will develop staff, improve processes and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for energy and resource clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and licensure with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering, power generation, electrical equipment or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in staff management, technical team management, project management or an equivalent role.
• Experience preparing proposals, client management and business development.
• Strong knowledge of design tools, office software and engineering methods applicable to electrical projects.
• Intermediate English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroad; advanced French to collaborate with Québec offices/clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee consulting services for power generation facilities and electrical equipment, including technical specifications and design reviews.
• Manage the department’s operations, including resource planning, productivity, deliverable quality and efficiency targets.
• Develop the team's technical capabilities through training, mentoring, improving work methods and implementing effective tools.
• Recruiting, onboarding, monitoring and evaluating employees under supervision.
• Build trusted client relationships, help prepare proposals and support business development initiatives.
• Collaborate with Practice, Innovation, Operations and Business Development teams to structure the department and support growth of Electrical Engineering.

Summary of certifications and jobrequirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
• From 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering, power generation, electrical equipment or a related field
