Job summary

M+B Engineering is seeking an Electrical CAD/Revit Operator to support drawing production and BIM coordination for multiple projects in Canada. You will work with senior engineers and designers to ensure accurate documentation and efficient workflows.

The role emphasizes proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD, BIM 360/ACC, and Bluebeam, with office-based duties and possible site visits as required. Flexibility and ongoing learning are valued traits.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in EDDT/EDT or BIM management diploma preferred.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD required.
  • Experience with BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks, Revizto, Fieldwire, Bluebeam.
  • Strong MS Office knowledge.
  • Experience in Building Systems industry as EDDT/EDT.
  • Coordinate projects and develop drafting techniques.
  • Knowledge of project management is desirable.
  • Strong communication and team interaction skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare or modify drawings from site data and senior engineers' instructions.
  • Assist designers with drawing coordination and coordinate with consultants.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with all parties on projects.
  • Accountable for the quality of service on projects.
  • Report to CAD/BIM manager on challenges and standards.
  • Attend technical meetings and stay updated on tech developments.

Requirements
  • A Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (EDDT), or Engineering Design Technology (EDT), is preferred, and a diploma in Building Information Modelling Management is also highly desirable.
  • Highly proficient and operating knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is required for all essential functions and responsibilities of this position.
  • Proficiency in BIM 360/ACC, Navisworks, Revizto, Fieldwire, Bluebeam, are essential.
  • A strong working knowledge of MS Office is also required.
  • Experience in the Building Systems industry as a EDDT or EDT is required
  • Additionally, you will coordinate and exercise functional authority to complete assigned projects while demonstrating increasing technical knowledge of drafting techniques and methods.
  • A proven knowledge of Project Management is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills are needed, as this position requires working as a team member interacting with internal clients.
Typical Duties

Typical duties will include, but not be limited to, the preparation and/or modification of the following:

  • Complete red pen markups from site surveys, photos, and/or instructions from senior electrical engineers.
  • Assist designers with drawing coordination reviews. Coordinate with other consultants.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between all parties on assigned projects with limited supervision.
  • Accountable for the quality of service on assigned projects.
  • Occasional contact with clients, vendor representatives and project field personnel.
  • Perform assignments with limited instruction regarding the results expected on unusual or complex problems.
  • Keep the project manager informed of all circumstances that could affect projects or clients.
  • Keep abreast of technological developments.
  • Attend technical and professional society meetings and seminars.
Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Cad/Revit Operator with M+B Engineering, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated high proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, as well as BIM 360/ACC and Bluebeam.
  • Perform assignments with limited instruction regarding the results expected on unusual or complex problems.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technological developments within AutoCAD, REVIT and associated programs.
  • Attend technical and professional society meetings and seminars.
  • Report to the CAD/BIM manager if technical challenges arise, drawing standards, or software-related issues.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

The characteristics described below represent those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

  • Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
  • The job will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to and visit a client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
