Job summary

Wasaga Resource Services Inc. in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the construction, maintenance, and operation of the electrical distribution system and its non-regulated activities. Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Utility Operations, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Master Electrician Licence preferred; willingness to obtain within agreed timeframe.
• P.Eng., C.E.T., or PMP would be considered an asset.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in electrical distribution, utility operations, construction, or related field, including 5 years of supervisory/management experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, construction and maintenance practices, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing projects, budgets, contractors, resources, and employees.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s licence in good standing and clean driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for health and safety performance across all operational activities.
• Lead day-to-day operations, including Lines and Stores, while fostering a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Lead, coach, and develop employees while managing workforce planning, performance, and labour relations in a unionized environment.
• Oversee the construction, maintenance, and operation of the electrical distribution system, including subdivisions, new services, relocations, rebuilds, and capital projects.
• Manage operational and capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and utility standards.
• Lead emergency response and outage restoration activities as required.
• Manage operational assets including fleet, equipment, materials, and inventory.
• Collaborate with customers, municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support safe and reliable utility operations.
