Job summary

Socket.dev in Saskatoon is seeking an ELCC Program Coordinator to lead planning and development of programs for Métis children within Saskatchewan. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of experience in early learning and child care, education, community programming, family engagement, or program coordination.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination, data collection and analysis, report writing, budget monitoring, and program reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the MN-S programs for Métis children and their families.

  • Develop inter-ministerial and inter-departmental relationships to support land-based knowledge and cultural content in programming.
  • Lead MN–S early learning and education projects including program development, planning, and delivery.

  • Prepare and provide ongoing program supports and data for project delivery and administration.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Collect data and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Monitor program budgets.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with providers across the province for family engagement.
  • Set strategic goals with the ELCC plan.
  • Other duties as determined.

SALARY RANGE: Starting at $68,979.00 Per Annum

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

LOCATION: Saskatoon

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Early Learning and Sports

Brief Overview:

MN–S is looking for a strong individual that has a passion for family engagement, is an exceptional communicator, and a natural problem solver. Under the direction of the Director of Early Learning and Child Care, the ELCC Program Coordinator will lead planning and development of programs for Métis children within Saskatchewan. This position is based at the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the MN-S programs for Métis children and their families.
  • Provide direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs in indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Develop inter-ministerial and inter-departmental relationships to support land-based knowledge, outdoor learning and cultural content in programming.
  • Lead MN–S early learning and education projects or programs including program development, planning, and delivery.
  • Develop Briefing Notes for department and provincial discussions.
  • Prepare and provide ongoing program supports and data to ensure successful project delivery and administration.
  • Serving on committees as required
  • Collect data and prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Monitor program budget.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service providers across the province to provide quality family engagement opportunities.
  • As an ELCC team member, develop and set strategic goals and objectives in coordination with the ELCC strategic plan.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Director of Early Learning and Child Care.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in early learning and child care, education, community programming, family engagement, or program coordination.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination, data collection and analysis, report writing, budget monitoring, and program reporting.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous communities, with Métis cultural knowledge considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the structure and policies of federal, provincial and MN–S would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of strategic and operational planning.
  • Budgeting skills, projection and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Willingness to work within a team environment.
  • Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Diligent with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain different topics.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation.
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
  • The travel requirement for this position is 40%
