Job summary

Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, seeks an ELCC Program Coordinator for Family Supports Programs. Under the ELCC Manager, you will plan and administer early learning and child care services for Métis families and children.

This full-time, permanent role requires strong communication, project coordination, and data reporting skills. Travel as needed; valid Saskatchewan driver’s license may be required; deadline Sept 1, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; equivalent combination considered.
  • 3–5 years in early learning, child care, education, or program coordination.
  • Experience developing, implementing, evaluating programs; data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and administration of MN-S early learning programs.
  • Provide direction to teams on program development and delivery.
  • Develop briefing notes for department discussions.
  • Oversee data collection, reporting, and budgeting activities.
  • Build partnerships with education service providers province-wide.
  • Support ELCC strategic plan and cross-program coordination.
  • Participate in committees and other duties as assigned.

POSITION TITLE: ELCC Program Coordinator - Family Supports Programs

DEPARTMENT: Early Learning and Child Care & Sports

CLASSIFICATION: MGO-06

SALARY RANGE: Starting at $68,979.00 Per Annum

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Early Learning and Childcare Manager

Brief Overview:

MN–S is looking for a strong individual that has a passion for family engagement, is an exceptional communicator, and a natural problem solver. Under the direction of the ELCC Manager, the ELCC Program Coordinator will lead planning and administration of Early Learning and Childcare programming for Métis families and children. This position is based with Métis Nation–Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the MN-S programs for Métis children and their families.
  • Provide direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs.
  • Lead MN–S early learning and education projects or programs including program development, planning and delivery.
  • Develop Briefing Notes for department and provincial discussions.
  • Provide direction and supervision to team members on case management and client services.
  • Oversee team members to ensure productivity, provide guidance, and administer training.
  • Collect data and prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service providers across the province.
  • As an ELCC team member, develop and set strategic goals and objectives in coordination with the ELCC strategic plan.
  • Support other ELCC programs and/or responsibilities during transitions.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Director of Early Learning and Child Care.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Public Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in early learning and child care, education, community programming, family engagement, or program coordination.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, projects, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination, data collection and analysis, report writing, budget monitoring, and program reporting.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Indigenous communities, with Métis cultural knowledge considered an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of strategic and operational planning.
  • Budgeting skills, projection and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Willingness to work within a team environment.
  • Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
  • Diligent with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain different topics.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access reliable transportation.
  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
  • The travel requirement for this position is as needed dependent on programming.
